Pressurized Sand Filters
Metal Home for Industry manufactures carbon-steel pressurized sand filters at its factory in 15 May City, Cairo, for municipal and industrial water treatment plants across Egypt. Each filter is a welded pressure vessel between 1,000 mm and 4,000 mm in diameter, designed for operating pressures up to 25 bar and supplied with an epoxy or rubber-lined interior to protect the potable water it treats.

About this product
A pressurized sand filter removes suspended solids, turbidity, and precipitated iron and manganese by forcing raw water through a graded bed of sand and gravel under pressure. Because the vessel is closed, it needs far less footprint than an open gravity filter and can be installed directly on the pump discharge line of a compact water station, a desalination pre-treatment train, or an irrigation network.
Since 1999 we have supplied and installed filter vessels for water companies in Gharbia, Assiut and New Valley, the Suez Canal governorates, and Qena, as well as for contractors working in Algeria. Every vessel is hydrostatically tested at 1.5 times its design pressure, its welds are inspected by non-destructive testing, and the internal lining is holiday-tested before it leaves the workshop. Vessels can be delivered bare or as a complete skid with nozzles, manholes, internal distributors and collectors, and manual or automated backwash valve manifolds.
