Oxidation Towers

Deep-well water in the Egyptian oases and Upper Egypt often carries iron and manganese in dissolved form. An oxidation tower brings that water into intimate contact with air as it cascades down through trays or packing, converting the dissolved metals into insoluble oxides that can then be captured by pressurized sand filters downstream. Towers are therefore normally supplied together with our filter vessels as a complete treatment train.

We supplied and installed oxidation towers and filter tanks for the iron-and-manganese removal plant at Mut, Dakhla in New Valley, and for the New Valley development works executed for NSPO. Each tower is delivered in transportable shell sections, field-welded or bolted on site, and finished with an external protective paint system suitable for the desert environment.
