Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation

Steel water-filter tanks for arboreal forest irrigation in Qus and Armant, Qena, supplied by Metal Home for Industry to the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.

Project overview

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation is the Egyptian government body responsible for agricultural policy, irrigation development, and the reclamation of desert land. Through its regional directorates it runs afforestation and treated-wastewater reuse programmes across Upper Egypt, including the arboreal (timber) forests irrigated with treated effluent in Qena Governorate.

Metal Home for Industry supplied carbon-steel water-filter tanks for the irrigation networks of the arboreal forests in Qus and Armant. The vessels were fabricated in our factory in 15 May City, Cairo, internally epoxy-lined, pressure-tested, and delivered with the nozzles and manifolds required to tie into the pumping and distribution system on site. The works were executed in coordination with Qena Water and Wastewater Company.

Irrigation with treated water is only viable when the filtration stage is reliable; blocked emitters and corroded vessels quickly stop a forest project. Our filters are built for long service in Upper Egypt's heat and dust, which is why the ministry and its partners continue to rely on us for fabrication support on irrigation and food-security infrastructure.
