Project overview
Orascom Construction is one of the largest engineering and construction groups in the Middle East and North Africa, executing infrastructure, industrial, and commercial projects across Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, and beyond. In Algeria it has delivered major cement, housing, and infrastructure programmes over the past two decades.
In 2005 Metal Home for Industry fabricated high-capacity carbon-steel water filter tanks, 3,000 mm in diameter, for an Orascom construction project in Algeria. The vessels were contracted by Veolia Water Systems, the process designer for the treatment plant, built to Veolia's specification in our factory in Cairo, epoxy-lined, pressure-tested, and exported for installation in Algeria.
This was our first export project and it demonstrated that vessels fabricated in Egypt could meet the specification and documentation requirements of an international water-treatment company. It remains a reference we cite for large-diameter filter fabrication.
